The idea for this piece struck me while I was literally sitting under a grapefruit tree at the Tucson Botanical Gardens.

The form is (roughly) A-B-C-B-A where the A theme is intended to represent a general feeling of tranquility, the B theme the sounds of nature (bird calls) and the C theme the warm gentle breezes that were flowing that day.
